This portrait has been a long time in the making.  I have been wanting to create a realistic portrait of Jesus for a few years now, but I have never been satisfied with my final results.

I've created many pieces of art with our Lord pictured on them, but they were always leaning more towards any "illustrated" version instead of an actual realistic portrait.  Now, I've finally been able to complete it to my satisfaction.

In creating this portrait, I wanted a couple of character traits I wanted to convey to the observer.  Those traits would be of divine strength and unshakable determination for the victory that is His.

I also was able to experiment with a new method of painting the portrait and I think it came out much better than with the technique I was previously using.  I was very pleased with the results.  I hope you like the reults of this piece and that you find it to be as rewarding for you to view, as it was for me to create through God's guiding hand.
