"Healing Rain"
by Scott Zambelli
The inspiration for this artwork came from a vision a local pastor had. She had shared her vision with her family, and asked them to relay the details of the vision to me - to see what I could possibly come up with.
The details of the vision I received were; Jesus was crucified. He was floating in the air, above a crowd of people and from his wounds, his blood poured down like a heavy rain (almost like bullets raining down). And down below, the people who were being rained upon were becoming healed through the blood of Christ.
I was really intriged by this vision and was filled with inspiration to try and complete something that would do justice to the final piece. To begin with, I started with a rough sketch to try and capture the image that was forming in my head and get it onto paper. As you can see, the image has the concept, but it's very static and I needed it to become much more dynamic.
So I did a series of sketches to try and get a final pose that I would be happy with. The final result is posted below.
